on the Ohio & Erie Towpath Trail

The Towpath Trail is a piece of Ohio history. The segment of the Towpath which winds through the Cuyahoga Valley was constructed from 1825 to 1827 as part of the Ohio & Erie Canal. It served as the path mules and horses walked to pull canal boats carrying goods south to the Ohio River and north to Lake Erie.2009 towpath tag
